Most of the time it is the tune that engrosses and captures our attention. The melody is what we try hard to reproduce with the right notes in the right tempo. Yet it is the words of the lyrics that contain the real song.
Try and sing the words out as if they were newly created — each one of them, and strung together to be sung. Let the force go into their pronouncements, and the tune stay in the background. Let the melody carry the words, but do no more. Every word has a meaning — let it shine forth.
This makes for a good singing experience.
